Cybill

Cybill is a variant of Sibyl. Sibyl originates in Greek language and means "woman prophet". In old mythologies, sybils were deity who could foresee the future. In the 19th century the name was popularized by Benjamin Disraeli in his novel "Sybil". As a feminine given name it is rather rare in the United States. The famous bearer of Cybill is the American actress Cybill Shepherd.
