Isadora originates in Greek language and means "present from Isis". In Egyptian mythology, Isis was the mother of all gods. Isadora is a variant of Isidora, ultimately derived from masculine Isidore. It was popularized by the American dancer Isadora Duncan. Her story was later on made into a 1968 film starring Vanessa Redgrave. Currectly, Isadora is a very rare name in the United States.
