Antigone

Antigone originates in Greek language and means "against being mother". In Greek mythology, she was the daughter of King Oedipus, who killed his father and married his mother. The tragedy has been retold in numerous plays and books, the most famous being The Antigone by Sophocles. Nowadays, it is very unusual as a feminine given name.
