Cromwell

Cromwell is a locational name for people who come from a small village in the county of Nottinghamshire. The name started when the Manor house of the village was inhabited by one Ralph de Cromwella. The name Cromwella itself was derived from the two words, “crumb” which means 'crooked or winding', and “waella” which means 'stream'.
