Edwige

Edwige is a French form of Hedwig. Hedwig originates in Germanic languages and means "fighting a battle". It was the name of several saints throughout history and it was also popular among royalty. Hedwig was also the name of Harry Potter's owl. As a feminine given name it is rather rare and considered old-fashioned in the United States.
