Roksana is a Russian form of Roxanne. Roxanne originates in Persian language and means "star of magnificence". It is an English variant of the name Roxana or Roxane. Roxana was the wife of Alexander the Great and was eventually assassinated. The name Roxanne was popularized by the song of the same name by The Police in 1978. She was also the main character in Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand.
