Bourne

Bourne is a very old English name and dates back to the time when people had geographical names that denoted where they lived. The name Bourne itself means a person who lived beside a stream. It is related to other names such as Brook and Burn because they are all derived from the same source, although Brook started to mean a stream that only flowed during certain times of the year. The name Burn was used in different dialects.
