Lark

Lark originates in English language and is taken from the name of a small terrestrial songbird. Larks are apparently early risers, and based on that there is an expression 'up like a lark', meaning wide awake. Also, people who get up early can be nicknamed larks. As a feminine given name, Lark is rather unusual in the United States.
